Requirements


Certified to weld carbon steel in both stick and TIG. Renews and tracks hours as required. Able to weld in the horizontal and vertical positions


Certified to weld Stainless in both stick and TIG. Renews and tracks hours as required. Able to weld in the horizontal and vertical positions.


Demonstrates the ability to safely operate a cutting torch.

Mobile equipment certified. Able to safely and effectively operate a forklift, man basket, and lull


Ability to lead others while preforming all duties within his skills and abilities, whether it is a contractor or in house employees.


Pipe Fitting Skills -Proficient working knowledge to safely and effectively maintain and install piping, tubing and hose type fluid and air transfer systems. Ability to design and properly execute piping system installs.


Mechanical Fasteners - Proficient working knowledge, skills, and abilities required to properly identify and safely and effectively maintain and install various types of threaded fasteners and retaining rings. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required to identify ASTM and SAE fastener grade markings, thread standards, torque requirements, and washer requirements for the specific task at hand.


Capable of reading blue prints and translating the print to the actual build.


Capable of fabricating a designed system (excluding piping) to include following the print, cutting the steel, and fabricating as required.


Hand Tools & Portable Power Tools - Proficient working knowledge, skills, and abilities required to properly identify and safely and effectively use and maintain hand tools and portable power tools on a routine basis while performing maintenance tasks.


Demonstrates the ability to use a pipe threader, table grinder, and chopsaw.


Demonstrates the ability to properly size and place valves into a system.


Ability to work with minor supervision from a jobs inception to its completion. This involves the planning, ordering of materials, coordinating with other departments or contractors, while keeping his supervisor informed of the daily job status.

Capable of working with engineering to create solutions to fit up issues in the field. Assists with red line drawings to ensure future work is corrected.


Math Skills: Basic working knowledge of boiler math
