GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Estimator Intern is responsible for providing estimating services for procuring work through the leadership of theProject Estimator and Preconstruction Manager. Products delivered include budgets, estimates, schedules, subcontracts, and pre-construction services. The Project Estimator must be a flexible and an adaptable team-player, as well as have effective communication and client service skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Arrangesand assembleswork teamsand solicit vendors

• Assistsin the development ofbid strategies for projects

• Createssubcontractor solicitation lists and ensurescoverage on all scopes of work

• Deliverspreconstruction services (constructability review, system analysis, value management, etc.)

• Creates and delegatesscope assignments to other estimating team members

• Performsselect quantity take off, pricing, site visits, pre-bid meetings, and review of the bid form

• Thoroughly reviewsall take-off and pricing, specifically self-performed work

• Mergesestimates, review for completeness and errors

• Reviewsall tab sheets prior to bid date

• Leadsreview of tab sheets and budget withPreconstruction Managerand VP of Preconstruction

• Bid level the subcontractor results for complete scope/price

• AssistsPreconstruction Managerin negotiating subcontracts and purchasing of allmajor aspects of the project

• Developsthe job cost budget and co-chair the turnoverandtransitionsmeetings

• Developsowner deliverables; estimatessummary, details, clarifications, etc.

• Performsother duties as assigned by supervisor
