Marketing and Engagement Intern

Advanced Energy Economy (AEE) is a national association of businesses that are making the energy we use secure, clean, and affordable. We work to accelerate the move to 100% clean energy and electrified transportation in the U.S. AEE is the only industry association in the U.S. that represents the full range of advanced energy technologies and services, both grid-scale and distributed. AEE's mission is transforming public policy to enable rapid growth of advanced energy businesses. We educate, engage, and advocate in more than a dozen states, in wholesale electricity markets, and at the federal level for executive actions, legislation, and regulations that expand the size and value of markets for advanced energy products and services. We also offer business intelligence products and select business development opportunities to help advanced energy companies grow.

Position Description

AEE is looking for a marketing and engagement intern for Summer 2022 to assist its member engagement and public-facing marketing team. Key projects will include market research and database management to support upcoming strategic marketing and member engagement campaigns. Our organization is headquartered in Washington, D.C. but the intern has the option of working out of our D.C. office or working remotely. If working remotely, preference will be given to applicants in the eastern time zone.

Responsibilities

• Works with member engagement and marketing team to support daily deliverables, planning, implementation, and analysis.
• Performs market analysis and research on the latest trends, gathers and analyzes data, runs pre-defined queries, and formats reports to support ongoing member engagement and marketing needs/projects.
• Conducts research on AEE's membership and the advanced energy industry to inform engagement and marketing strategies.
• Supports day-to-day member engagement and marketing needs, and performs some clerical, office coordination, and administrative tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Interest in pursuing a career in marketing, outreach, engagement, and/or nonprofit and association work
• Experience working in a CRM or other database platforms in a plus
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Willingness to learn
• Creativity
• Proactivity
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage several projects at a time
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Attention to detail

Dates: Flexible, but June through August preferred

Location: Washington D.C. (Hybrid)

Hours: Between 15 to 30 hours per week

Compensation: If an intern is not receiving academic credit, AEE will pay interns at a rate of $15.20 per hour (this rate increases to $16.10 beginning on July 1st)
